Product Development Engineer (Mechanical)

The Product Development Engineer is responsible for project management and hands-on development of a product development portfolio.  The position will be active in manufacturing process improvement and optimization.  This is a unique opportunity to join a growing company that actively develops its product portfolio through internal development and acquisition.  The position will report to the Group Managing Director and work collectively with operational teams for project execution.

Essential Functions

  • Managing the design and implementation of multiple products and projects.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as instruments, controls, machines, etc.
  • Design, develop, and test processes for producing prototypes and long-term production of products.
  • Define quality control criteria and safety guidelines.
  • Test products and processes and evaluate results to identify problems and estimate cost of resolutions.
  • Produce detailed designs and/or CAD drawings, acting as technical expert on products and processes.
  • Process improvements with existing products.
  • Involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of products.
  • Report on the current status of the products and projects.


  • BA, Mechanical Engineering
  • 10 years of experience, preferably in product development/design
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Willingness to work hands-on in project exectution
  • Leadership skills and an effective communicator
  • Ability to travel domestically (and internationally) on occasion

Product Associate (Ceramics)

This person participates in the production of ceramic crucibles. This position reports to the Ceramics Production Manager. (No experience necessary. We will train you.)

Essential Functions

  • Follows procedures to maintain compliance with ISO standards
  • Inspects and packages ceramic crucibles per procedure
  • Operates presses to produce ceramic products
  • Inspects product for visual defects
  • Verifies critical dimensions with calibrated equipment
  • Packs crucibles

Laboratory Technician

This person produces and bottles reagents and reference materials.  This position reports to the Laboratory Supervisor.

Essential Functions
•    Follows work instructions to produce laboratory reagents
•    Bottles laboratory reagents and reference materials as directed
•    Maintains a clean and organized laboratory and work area
•    Performs checks on calibrated equipment as requested
•    Cleans and maintains laboratory equipment and supplies, such as beakers, pans, ovens, etc.
•    Performs other tasks as requested by immediate supervisor

•    Requires high school diploma and/or one year of high school chemistry
•    Experience with ISO standards
•    Good oral and written communication skills

Necessary Skills:  Curiosity and a logical mindset. Did you LOVE high school chemistry? This might be the job for you!

Service Engineer

As an Alpha Resources Service Engineer, you will provide maintenance and support to customer and company instrumentation in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This position requires: time management, communication skills, and the ability to work in a high demand environment.

Essential Functions

  • Provide technical support for customers, field service engineers and other service team members
  • Troubleshoot and repair of company and customer instrumentation
  • Assist internal departments with technical issues
  • Manage an expense account and communicate with the Fiinance department
  • Keep a clean and safe work environment
  • Maintain current training and certifications

Necessary Skills: Do you enjoy figuring things out and fixing them with your hands? Do you like working as a team to come up with solutions?  Then this might be the job for you! 

You will need to be able to pass periodic drug/alcohol screenings and have a clean driving record. Some US travel is required.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare monthly close, financial statements and related general ledger analysis
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll and commission statements
  • Process banking transactions
  • Supervise existing accounting staff
  • Develop accounting best practices for integrating acquired entities
  • Develop consolidated reporting for multiple US and International Entities
  • Participate in significant IT software upgrades and migrate US Entities to one system.
  • Monitor tax compliance with certain states


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a related field preferred
  • Three to five years of proven accounting or auditing experience
  • Experience with ERP and Accounting software packages preferred (but not required)
  • Excellent computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office Suite

Skills:  Are you detail oriented? Are you a bit of an accounting "nerd" with working knowledge of accounting best practices, laws, state/national regulations and GAAP?
